About
I work as a freelance writer, trainer and consultant in the world of English language teaching.
Having started my career as a youth worker in inner city London, I moved to Spain to teach English and spent over thirty years at the chalkface as a teacher, trainer, writer and an IT Coordinator, before going freelance.
I’ve worked for all ELT ages and levels, specialising in preschool and primary and in work advocating for the safe use of digital pedagogies. You’ll see from my work services pages, that I’ve enjoyed many opportunities to share my teaching experience in both my writing and training.
I place a high value on professional development and am qualified in the DELTA, Trinity Cert ICT, e-moderation and mobile learning, with courses in YYL and DEI. I frequently attend conferences, give talks and have volunteered for teacher associations, most recently as the technology and social media coordinator for MaWSIG (IATEFL’s materials and writers special interest group). I believe I’ve been one of many who have helped to shape the future directions of ELT materials. A commitment to equity, inclusion and diversity is an essential part of my life and work values. I’m currently a member of IATEFL and the Society of Authors.
When I’m not at my desk, you’ll find me in dance and exercise classes at the gym, tending to my terrace plants or catching up with the latest reality show episodes.
